FOODY VIBES
Maraviglia retreat is known for delicious and abundant organic food. A lot of food is grown at Maraviglia and the surrounding farms so we literally eat farm-to-table…
The organic olive oil we enjoy straight from the farm, its so good…
The food is mostly vegetarian, home-cooked with love and designed to be balanced and nourishing.
We embrace a mostly vegetarian Tuscan cuisine with a true international flair. Our chef and host Francesca is known for her incredible flavour combinations and gorgeous presentation.
ABOUT THE VENUE
The Farmhouse
Maraviglia is a lovingly restored 400-year-old building, care has been taken to preserve its original architectural essence, bestowing the house with all the charm of its historical heritage. The warm and natural hues of our cottage-style furnishings create a cozy and authentically rustic living environment.
We offer modern amenities including Wi-Fi, a well-stocked library of books, and a delightful assortment of tea and fresh fruit always available for you
A Home becomes a Retreat
Maraviglia holds a special place in the heart of Francesco Piattelli, who grew up there but left to pursue a career in New York City. Despite his success in the USA, his longing for the Tuscan hills never waned.
Today, Maraviglia stands as a haven where visitors can practice yoga, connect, rejuvenate, foster creativity, and truly find solace within themselves. This beautiful sanctuary offers the simplest yet most luxurious of pleasures: silence, lush surroundings, warm hospitality, and abundance in every sense.
The name ‘Maraviglia’ finds its origins in old Italian, signifying ‘a place or person that inspires amazement, marvel, and wonder due to its exceptional, unpredictable, or exquisite qualities.’ You’ll soon discover why ancient pilgrims and travelers bestowed upon our hill the name ‘Podere Maraviglia,’ which can be translated as ‘The Marvellous Hill.’
A leisurely 30-minute walk or a quick 10-minute bike ride will lead you to the nearby village of Monte San Savino, where the country roads and landscapes remain stunning at every hour.
Here, you can savor the delights of local restaurants, relish gelato, unwind at charming bars, explore boutiques, discover unique gift shops, hunt for antiques, and admire the craftsmanship of local pottery artisans.
